Assuming everything holds up over the next twelve hours, I’ll be heading south tomorrow morning to the Oregon coast for a couple days of camping and surfing. You have no idea how much I need this. Hiking around in the mountains is spectacular and I get a charge out of the scenery, but nothing makes me happier than playing in the ocean. Playing. I can’t wait! The weather looks great, the surf report looks solid. It’s a five hour drive one way, but we’ll make the best of that (I’m still trying to convince Mary to take the day off and come along too, which would make the ride infinitely more fun). I just found three quarters of a stick of base coat and a couple bars of cold water wax, so I’ll spend the next twenty minutes waxing up in the swirl of coconut fumes for tomorrow. Life’s alright.
