Sunset last night at Oswald West State Park in Oregon right after I got out of the water. I was able to sneak in a surf session late yesterday afternoon after leaving Yakima around 11 am. Went out again this morning, then putzed around the coast for a while before driving back this afternoon (stopping at Multnomah Falls, east of Portland, on the way). I’ll probably post more tomorrow, but right now I’m a bit sleepy after driving for five-plus hours with salt-stung eyes. No complaints though, coastal air is always good for my soul.
Wow. Wish I could see that coast some day. You know how to pack a lot into a weekend!
I don’t know if I’d recommend 11 hours of driving in two days to most people just to go camping and surfing, but every once in a while it seems like it’s worth the effort.
Josh & Mary – If you ever want to surf in Southern CA you can stay with us. We are only about 1 1/4 hour from the ocean (give or take some for traffic). Jordan, Dan and your Dad can all attest to the luxuriousness of our guest ‘suite’.
As long as it’s nicer than sleeping in the back of a Ford Focus wagon it’d be a luxurious upgrade for me. Thanks. I’ll have to take you guys up on that one of these years.
