According to weather.com it’s supposed to be 77 here on Saturday and 79 on Sunday. Lovely. I’ve been scrambling to find a place to go hiking this weekend that isn’t still inundated with snow. Not much luck at least in terms of going upward. Maybe what’s showing on the map below though. Kloochman Rock, I’ve been meaning to check this out since last summer. About a 45 minute drive from our place and the roads should be clear enough. Looks like a fun little scramble. We shall see.
Any idea what the elevation gain is?
Google now has elevations listed on their terrain maps (click the “Ter” on the upper right of the map). So, yes. About 1200 feet.
Fun little scramble? Looks like sheer cliffs in Google Earth. That sat image doesn’t do it much justice…
Well there are cliffs, but I’m not going up those (probably not at least). I’m pretty sure there’s a trail to the top.
Just fired up Google Earth to see what you were talking about. That’s pretty sweet. I didn’t realize you could get that 3d perspective.
